Right from a young age Jai was always interested in art. He had a flair for drawing, thanks to his mother who instilled the interest in him when he was a small boy and ever curious about the world around him.
In 1988 his father enrolled him into a nearby book lending library. He started reading teen fiction of those days such as Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Apart from improving his command over English language, it also instilled a desire towards writing. His interest in English grew and he was more attentive in English classes at school and college. He even wrote poems as a boy and that only helped in giving him more confidence, no matter how pathetic the poems might have been to a layman reader, thinking about it now!
But all his interests took a backseat when he grew up and focused more on academics and getting a job which are still considered very important in a typical middle class Indian family.
However, in early 2010, after the passing away of both his parents, Jai once again re-kindled his passion for art as a away to fight his depression. He took a particular liking towards pencil sketching and loved shading his sketches.
Also, he soon discovered that the beauty of the world around him could be expressed better through photographs. There started his journey towards discovering his passion for photography.
All his interests were supported by his younger sister who also purchased stuff for him to carry on with his interests such as drawing pencils, digital camera and so on!
Jai became more active in Facebook, often posting philosophical thoughts and musings about happenings at a typical IT company in India. He always wanted to write stories but never got around to it.
In 2015, the company he worked for announced an inter-company short story writing competition. This got him hooked to short stories and he decided to write his first story (though by then he had written down plots for at least 60 stories in his diary). He went on to write his first story 'The Executioner'. This story won the 2nd prize in the competition and was well appreciated by many within the organization. Thus he started working on more stories ever since.
This blog is a platform for Jai to showcase the outcome of all his interests within one window. He came up with the name 'KreativPitcher', basically a platform from which art simply pours out just as water gushes out of a pitcher.
Jai hopes to regularly post his photographs, writings, musings, ramblings, stories, etc in the blog.
